INSTRUMENTATION AND STAGE SHOW
Tarl performs with a compact stage setup. With small and powerful PA that is useful for rooms from 50 to 5,000 people, Tarl plays acoustic guitars.
Hoto brings a small and compact set of drums and percussion, along with a room-appropriate bass amp and bass guitar.
As a duo act, Hoto and Tarl use their combined 40+ years of performance experience to read the room and adjust volumes accordingly. Their goal is to allow conversation to take place as appropriate, or bring the crowd out for dancing and singing.
An ideal stage size for Tarl as a solo act is about 6'x6'.
With Hoto, an ideal stage size for the duo is 6'x12'

Tarl Feser, former front man for the successful rock group "Sam" and his solo rock project, TARL, is stretching his legs and his voice in a new musical endeavor. Tarl is a singer/songwriter with a flare for entertaining and a voice that captures. Having attended the University of Rock & Roll for many years, Tarl has had the privilege of releasing multiple full length albums, worldwide airplay, multiple North American tours, movie and video game soundtracks and the honor of sharing the stage with a myriad of acts such as Maroon 5, Nickleback and Train.

Hoto and Tarl met like many other doomed partnerships - on Craigslist. Hoto has been playing professionally since he was 16 years old, including stints with 90’s Vancouver pop-phenom Fools Parade. A graduate of Capilano College’ s jazz program, Hoto is a versatile player having spent time on the country, jazz and hard rock circuits. He is most at home layin’ down the funk and co-founded Vancouver’s Personal Funk Device with some of the city's finest players. He's a master of feel and pocket, and is is grateful for the opportunity to have played with countless great artists on the Vancouver scene. He's recently taken up bass and is enjoying playing his drums with his feet while his fingers pluck the four strings.
